In 2009, the contemporary art gallery “Vartai” dedicated itself to the introduction of the former European capitals of culture. Now it opens its door to the exhibition/action “From Artists’ Workshops” which will run for two months. Works from more than 20 top Lithuanian contemporary authors will be on display as well as available for rent or purchase.
The exhibition/action “From Artists’ Workshops” will feature the works of “ARTscape” project artists: Žilvinas Landzbergas, Jurga Barilaitė, Dainius Liškevičius, Andrius Zakarauskas, Laura Garbštienė, Evaldas Jansas, Eglė Ridikaitė, Gintaras Makarevičius, Ugnius Gelguda; participants of the Venice Biennale: Žilvinas Kempinas, Svajonė and Paulius Stanikas; the gallery’s artists and guest artists: Eglė Kuckaitė, Eglė Vertelkaitė, Jonas Gasiūnas, Kęstutis Grigaliūnas, Laisvydė Šalčiūtė, Marius Zavadskis, Tomas Martišauskis, Vidmantas Ilčiukas and others.
Every practicing and beginning collector, or those simply interested in contemporary art are invited to the exhibition/action. Prices of works range from several hundred to dozens of thousands litas. A contemporary art auction will be held in April at the end of the exhibition, during which selected works of the exhibition will be available for purchase.
The exhibition is open 12 to 6 pm Tuesday to Friday and 12 to 4 pm on Saturdays until April 8. It can be visited any other time under an advance arrangement.
