The contemporary art gallery VARTAI in cooperation with Tallinn gallery ARTDEPOO and independent Latvian curator Iliana Veinberga, opens its door to the young Baltic artists' exhibition, in which the work f young but already appreciated (and those still waiting for appreciation) artists from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will be shown as well.
The title ILLUSION OF INCLUSION is a sociological term applied to the exhibition for highlighting the entrance and involvement of young art into the world of gallery and art market. Rhethorically do we dare to ask: isn't this process the illusion of inclusion?! Is the line between "known" and "unknown" real or just an illusion? Do we recognize the creation of Latvians and Estonians and they- ours? What are those inclusions in regard to each other?
INCLUSION OF ILLUSION as an artistic strategy, is the incorporation of memory, history, time and space snippets that are purified to a level of unreality.
